Pet of the Month

Here at Acre Hill Veterinary Clinic we have an abundance of spectacular pets, as well as pet owners.  In order to honor these amazing pets we are going to have an official "Pet of the Month." The pet of honor will have their picture placed on this page with a little information on who they are and why they got the award for one month and then the picture will be put into our photo gallery.

Meet our newest Pet of the Month, Jack Sparrow! It's not too often that we get birds in our clinic so seeing Jack is a refreshing sight! Jack was acquired by his owner all the way in Virginia! His owner has lovingly raised him since he was just a little chick. This included the daunting task of bottle-feeding him. For anyone that has ever bottle-fed an animal, you probably have a pretty good idea as to how much patience and dedication is takes to be successful at bottle-feeding baby birds. Jack Sparrow is a beautiful Cockatiel that has been keeping his owner company for 14 years! His owner says that his favorite activity is shredding things. She also says he's partial to shredding paper, but has a habit of shredding anything he can get his claws on. Shortly after becoming united with his owner, he took an unexpected adventure outside of the home. When his owner was leaving, he flew out the door and worried his adopted mother sick for days. Luckily, a neighbor found him a few days later and the two were reunited. Ever since that day, Jack comes into the clinic in his stylish carrier to get his wings trimmed.

Congratulations on being January's Pet of the Month! We look forward to seeing this little wildcard for years to come and hearing all about his latest antics!
