We're pleased to offer the following services at Acre Hill Veterinary Clinic Veterinary Clinic:

kitty1.pngAppointments

Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and doctor will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted 24 hours a day for established clients. For anyone who has not established a record here may call Animal Emergency between 6 pm - 8 am at 217-359-1977. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.

Wellness and Diagnostic Screenings

Our clinic offers the latest laboratory equipment for diagnostic screenings. This includes chemistry and hematology blood tests to provide a detailed report of your pet's state of health on the inside. Chemistry blood tests are used for providing the health and function of your pet's organ systems and fluid balance. Hematology blood tests provide a better look at the overall count of blood cells in the body, and these values are affected by many different diseases and infections. It is highly recommended that all pets over the age of 7 are tested at least once every year to determine their internal state of health.

Emergency & Urgent Care

We have a veterinarian on duty 6 days a week who is trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of one veterinarian and technician working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such as snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.

We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening. If you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment, our veterinarian will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.

Doggy and Kitty Daycare

We consider the care of your pet an important responsibility. Boarding services are provided for your pet and for you while you are away from home. When your pet is our guest here at Acre Hill we do all that we can to make sure his or her needs are well served. During the time your pet is our guest we wish to provide a worry free experience for both you and for your pet. To ensure a worry free environment here at Acre Hill, and to ensure your pet's good health during its stay with us, a high standard of care and procedure is maintained.

Your pet's medical record on file here at Acre Hill is an important part of its care while staying here as our guest. We require that your pet has an annual physical examination record on file with us. If not, then a Pre-boarding examination is required. Also, vaccinations are required to be up-to-date. If your canine does not not have a current Kennel Cough vaccination on record, it will be imperative for a Bordetella vaccination to be administered to your pet before it is admitted for boarding.

For our canine friends, we have individual runs in which your pet has its own napping cot. For your pets' listening pleasure, we provide soft soothing music.

For our feline friends, we offer kitty condos that are bi-level and spacious, with padded perches.

All pets are are cared for several times each day and our canine guests are hand walked 3 - 5 times a day in our landscaped outdoor play area.

We can bathe your pet on the day it goes home. Owners who select the bathing service, we ask you pick-up your pet after 11 a.m. Bathing includes: blow drying, combing, brushing, and cologne or perfume.

You may pre-arrange to pick-up your pet after regular hours of operation
